Remembrance Day
November 8, 2018
This year Remembrance Day has a special significance.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Armistice which ended the First World War (1914–18) – ‘The war to end all wars’.
In Perth at the State War Memorial, 62,000 hand knitted poppies will be planted around the Flame of Remembrance – one of each solider that died during the war. Each poppy took two hours to complete and it took the team of volunteers over a year to complete. Also the state RSL has been busy trying to organise ‘100 buglers for 100 years’. They will all play the Last Post on the 11th at 11 a.m.
Lest We Forget.
